Hello guys/gals..
I have gotten the Chevy bug again and have decided to find myself a nice chevelle.. I figure that I will find all of my answers here.. here is what i'm looking for..

66-67 chevelle.. ss preferred..
auto TH350/400 (only 67's right?)
small block preferred..
buckets and console..
disk brakes (front)

ok.. i'm sure that i've just spec'd the rarest 66-67 chevelle out there but i'd still like to find one. i'd like to find a pretty clean car that hasnt been cut up and abused.. no fiberglass hoods, big scoops.. etc.. just a clean car.. plan is a mild smallblock, auto tranny, mild T convertor, etc.. disk brakes will be added if not factory.. as well as a/c.. i just need to find the car now.. i will have a decent amount of cash to play with but i'd like to find the best car for me.. if that is a malibu. that's fine.. any help is appreciated.. thanks!

Hi Rob. Nice to hear you got the chevelle bug!

This is a tech forum, so we can't help much in finding one, you should try a free wanted ad at:
http://www.chevelles.com/ads/wanted/
Small blocks in 66 and 67 only had the powerglide for an auto tranny. The 67 SS had the option of a TH-400 (no 350 - although it's a common and easy swap for the glide).
Disc was a 67 only option and is somewhat rare (and expensive to work with), an upgrade from drum to a 69up style disc is a good solution.
Air cars are quite a bit different in many aspects, from dashes - firewalls etc. If you want air, you should find one that has 'all the fixings' already in it.

good luck... Al

66-67 SSs only came with big blocks. It sounds to me like what you really want is a Malibu with a 283 or 327. Check Hemmings motor news at http://www.hmn.com. Buy one of their big fat magazines every month. You would be surprised what you'll find in there. There is a section dedicated to Chevelles. It goes from $1000 rust buckets to $25,000 SS convertables. 1) Do you want a numbers matching car? 2) Are you willing to do a rebuild from the ground up? If you answered no to 1 and yes to 2, then you will have a lot more cars to choose from. You may even be able to find one in the local paper, but they are usually snapped up really fast. Have your cash ready to go.
