Hello Hello
Christmas has been good to me this year, Santa some how managed to fit a 350(factory 4bbl with aluminum intake care of a 79 caprice), a TH350 tranny and a 10 bolt posi 4.11 (poor 68 GTO's get up and go, got up and went) into his sleigh. And, all I had to do was leave 500 bucks with the cookies and milk. Now comes the catch: santa forgot to leave instructions. All the goodies are being shoveled into a 1970 Malibu no post 4 door, along with a B&M Quick-Silver shifter (again no instructions) and I am wondering what major hassels I should expect.

What it's got:

1970 Chevelle Malibu 4 Door
307 SB with 4bbl and dual plane intake
Pee-Gee 2spd, on the column
1972 Skylark drive shaft
2.56:1 rear
Orig Manifolds with 2" single with glass pack

What it's getting:

350 with intake from above
TH350 with B&M Quick Silver
4.11 Posi
Manifolds form above and dual 2.5" with glass pack

Any comments, questions and the ilk on setup and installation would be greatly appriceated.

BTW no snikkering about her being a 4 door she's sensative and likes to spank mid 80's IROC's and 5.0's 8)=) endless rear gear to the rescue

IROCs? 5.0s? Wow! Are you not telling us about the 250 shot of Nitrous? C'mon now!
Anyway,
You have a very straightforward swap. I think even the drive shaft length is the same from pg to th350, but I don't know if the Pontiac rear is the same in its distance from the yoke to the ring gear centerline. Do your homework on that.
You'll need an installation kit from B&M for the shifter, but putting in an automatic floorshifter is cake anyway.
Aside from that, I prefer to remove the engine and transmission as one whole unit, and install them as one whole unit. Get a couple of friends, and a good crane for this, and it will save you quite a bit of time over installing the trans from the underbelly.
Good Luck!
Dave
