Dragrace vehicle,
My 468 BBC chevelle has a reoccuring "pop" when it reaches RPM's of 6000 or better. Things I have changed or looked at are:
coil (new)
valvesprings (new)
plugs (new)
cap and rotor (new)
vacuum leaks (none)
timing (no effect, moved from 34-40 range)
charging system (new)
wiring (checked and even replaced some)
carb jets (tried 84 to 92 with no change)
The "popping" only happens at high RPM's and it is at the point of being frustrating. It was suggested that I unplug my tach. from my MSD box but that had no effect either. The only thing I have yet to change are my plug wires, I use Moroso Ultra 40 race wires, which are fairly new, upon visual inspection they seem in good condition but I guess I need to test. Has anyone had a similiar situation or any ideas?
HELP, Thanks
