Every 3 to 4 weeks I have to change my valve cover gaskets on my 70 350 original camel humps.Changed chome metal covers to polished aluminum, still leaks. Using FEL-PRO cork gaskets, Have tried rubber ones which were worse. I use a little contact cement on cover side otherwise dry and clean. Any suggestions? PLEASE.

Do you have holes in the covers for pcv and crankcase vent? Most aluminium covers need to be drilled for this. If not pressure inside the engine will definitely seep past the gaskets.

I agree with Bill... make sure you have adequate ventilation out of at least one valve cover to vent the pressure inside the motor. If not, then you will keep blowing out the gaskets since the pressure has no where to go. I'd suggest the factory PCV setup in one side with a breather on the other.
Good luck,
Bill C.

Don,another suggestion i have to add to the above mentioned ones are to use arp valve cover studs and new felpro cork/rubber valve cover gaskets with the metal inner core that will hold their shape and a very thin bead of oil resistant rtv on both side too. Make sure to use some brakleen on a rag to remove the oil from any of the gasket surfaces before you reseal this last time. If you vent the motor correctly, use the valve cover studs, gaskets with metal inner liner, and rtv along with your rigid aluminum covers you should be able to get this corrected.
