Does anyone know where i can find a "how to" on shimmying a starter into my 72 chevelle malibu? i put a new starter in lasted a few days =) and also anyone know if i could just exchange it or would i have to buy a new one? thanks for any help...gotta do this tomorrow in the snow...weeeee

I bought a starter today from NAPA and they said it had a 2 year warranty. Kragen (Schucks, Checker) also warranties their starters. As far as shims, if the starter doesn't come with them you can buy a pack at Kragen (Schucks, Checker) in the help section. Shims go between the top of the starter and the block, start with the smallest if needed.

Also, ensure you are using genuine starter bolts with the knurled shank, else they loosen up and starter starts making bad contact with flywheel.
