72 chevelle with 350 is lurching forward when in drive and stopped at a light, sign, etc. what could this problem be? It lurches about every two or three seconds or so. the lurch is very noticable.

idle to high, uh the cam, mine lurches and the idle is around 500, it does it because of cam and blower helps it. mine is just the nature of the beast, press the brake harder

Sounds like the converter might be a little tight. Make sure the idle is not too high as mentioned. A higher stall converter may solve the problem if you don't have other tranny problems.
