This problem has always been here, i have a 350 with a performer rpm cam, intake, and 600cfm carb. When at a stop if i get on the gas gentily, which i do a lot when pulling away from a light behind a slower car, it hesitates a bit, if i get on it with a little extra gas its fine, but i can feel the hesitation in the background, it just happens much faster and therefore goes unnoticed.

Also the car randomly diesels, i cant pin it on anything, maybe a bad batch of gas? The car is tuned to run on premium, and when i tried 87 is deiseled alot, so im back on premium but it has dieseled twice since i filled up yesterday, but nothing in the past weeks.

I'm guessing these are both related to the carb? I have to pump the pedal once before starting it, and it will start right up, otherwise it turns over alot, sometimes even with the pump of hte pedal it will turn over for 2-3 seconds before starting.

Any ideas on how to work these little bugs out?

Increase base timing, lower curb idle speed screw, set lash on accel pump lever. Should fix these symptoms.
