I am looking for a set of headers that will fit without removing the engine and don't cover the spark plugs to the point that the header has to be removed to change one. I have power steering and air conditioning. Also is there a chrome header that doesn't turn colors? If not I would use the ceramic coated headers. Thanks for all the help. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Tom

I've had experience with 1-3/4" Hedmans and 2" Hookers. Both fit well, the Hookers especially, offer reasonable access to the plugs, and are not too difficult to install. The left motor mount needs to be unbolted and the engine raised slightly to get the left header into place. With A/C you'll need to install the rearmost bolts on the right header from under the car.

I've had similar experience with Hedman

I'm running Hedmans on my 69 396 and have good access to the plugs on both sides. Much better than other brands I've seen and had to deal with.

Thanks a lot for the information on the headers. I had a set that came on my 70 El Camino with a 350 that you had to take the headers off to change the front plugs. That really was a poorly designed header. Anyway have a MERRY CHRISTMAS. Tom
