DZAUTO Sep 3rd, 99, 4:54 AM Don't know anyone just offhand, but if you will run them over to Okla City real quick, I'll put them in for you. And you can help so that you will know how to do it next time.

When I posed this question to many of the auto parts places in the San Jose area, the most common response I got was Rearend Specialties. I had them install an Auburn unit with a 3:73 gear set in my 12 bolt and am very happy with it. I would go back to them again.

jeffc Sep 3rd, 99, 10:53 AM Tom, One of these days I'm going to give you a call, buy you a case or two of what ever you drink and head down there from Wichita with a four speed or a rear end and let you show me somethin'. Heck - I've been to OKC the past two weekends to look at cars anyway.
Sorry I couldn't help Jon. Just had to tip my hat to DZAUTO... Jeff

JON66 Sep 3rd, 99, 9:42 PM ElCamaro, thanks for the info, i will give them a call, any idea on how long i might have to wait to get the car in to them? Only got a couple weeks till i got to get off to school so i want to get them in so i can have some fun. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
Tom, thanks for the offer, i would love to learn how to do it myself, my muncie also needs some work and i here you are the man for that too, but dont think a trip to OKC is in the works any time soon. But i have to say, you have got to be one of the coolest guys on this site.

Scooter Sep 4th, 99, 3:52 PM Jon, since you don't wanna go to OKC, a "little shorter" trip to Minnesota, and a case of Budweiser, and I'll help you out with your 10 bolt. Ha, Ha, nice try, huh?
Stop by OKC on your way, and bring Tom with you. I'd like to drink beer with anyone from this site and talk or work on Chevelles!

Shane Cummins Sep 5th, 99, 6:52 AM I took my rear end in. (it was already out of the car) They turned it around in three days. If I remember correctly (been a while) the stall was in waiting for parts. good luck

JON66 Sep 9th, 99, 5:50 PM ElCamaro, i talked to rear end specialties twice. the first time they quoted about $855. The second time my dad talked to them and they said $1300, That is crazy, there is no way i am going much above $800 for this job. I am not sure what made such a difference but i think maybe one more call is in line to them and if its too much i will probobly try to find someone else.
Thanks again
