Or do you put anything around the water jackets? Just looking at different install methods being used, smile.gif . jpete Jul 2nd, 03, 1:47 PM ON the 350 I built for my Camaro, I dusted them with silver spray paint because I read somewhere that it helped. On my wife's F150 I just got finished with I used Permatex spray copper because the instruction sheet in the gasket set said that if a 32 surface finish could not be obtained, use some adhesive. I don't know if it made a difference in either case but I haven't had any problems so far. Jeff d1_bradley Jul 2nd, 03, 2:06 PM Depends on the gasket. If its a steel shim, silver paint does work good. Any composition gasket should be installed per instructions that come with them. Noramlly CLEAN and DRY. Rich-L79 Jul 2nd, 03, 5:15 PM Dry is best with composition gaskets. If you haven't bought gaskets yet think about the Fel-Pro blues, they are the best I've ever used and have never failed me. | ||
