I have a 69ss that had those half chrome covers.I have seen them on 64 and 65 model chevelle's was this an option or just a add on

Add on. We used to call it Kentucky Chroming. Nowadays that would not be politicly correct I'd guess. Chrome wheels with baby moons, dual antennas, lake pipes, ah those were the days. tom

Lowered in the rear, long fender skirts, dual dummy spotlights,extended Continental kit, fuzzy dice...........

Sorry I didn't put it in but I'm refering to head light covers. Yes Tom those were the days.

Those covers were called Headlight Half-Moons. They were banned here in Ontario Canada back around 1970. All that means is they stopped selling them. I have never heard of anyone actually coming to grief with the law, though. Today I see an awful lot of those tinted headlight covers, the modern equivalent, in use.
