I have a 73 Muncie and I 67 Chevelle with bucket seats. I understand the 67 should have studs to attach linkage and 73 attach using bolts. Can I use the Shifter linkage for the 67 and just use bolts and lock washers to attach the linkage? Or is there something different about the 73 linkage that will not work on my 67?

Don,
Give it a shot and see if it all bolts together. Let us know.

Don, I BELIEVE that you'll find the shifter arms for your 67 linkage will have to be opend up slightly to fit on the 73 Muncie. The pieces are "keyed" if you will. Also you will have to open up the center of your slot to accept the bolt. And , yes, lockwashers are required regardless. Use a die grinder very carefully to do this.

Or do the best thing and trash the Muncie shifter ( except for handle ), buy a Comp Plus ( be sure to specify the later model install kit ) and mate your stock handle to the Hurst.
