Guys I need some help. I was racing my bro in his firebird and I was really getting into it and after the car shifted into second (i could tell by the bark of the r rear tire) the engine seemed to die. I gave it some gas a couple of times but to no avail. After I slowed down I gave it some gas and it went along like nothing ever happened. What happened.
The engine is a 350/TH350, has HEI, 4-bbl Q-jet, and dual exhaust.

P.S-I had him beat untill this little snafu happened.

First place I would look would be the fuel pump along with the gas filter. Have you run the car like this before with no problem?
Give a little bit more info and someone will know what the problem is.
