One thing I realized today is that I don't have a good idea how big the Chevelle is. The shape of the '68-72 models make it difficult - long nose, shorter trunk.
And since there aren't many around here, I've never been able to park next to one.
Can anyone compare it to a modern passenger car (626, Camry) or half-ton long-wheelbase truck (F-150, 1500)?

We have measured the below vehicles as BEST we can. The measurements are bumper to bumper and are approximate (very, very close).

1986 Olds 98 4dr--------------------16'4"
1986 Honda Accord 4dr LXI-----------14'9"
1976 Cutlass 2dr--------------------17'6"
1970 Malibu 2dr---------------------16'5"
1967 Impala 2dr---------------------17'7"
1966 Chev longbed 1/2ton PU---------17'4"
1956 Corvette-----------------------14'0"
1951 Chev 4dr-without bumper guards-16'0"

The Cutlass, Malibu, PU and 51 Chev all have a trailer hitch which IS NOT INCLUDED in the measurements. Even though the Cutlass is nearly the same size as the Malibu, the length is so much longer because of the big impact bumpers required by the govt!

I can compare a chevell to those cars a dfferent way. Chevelle=AWESOME!
626=Total junk!
Camry=total junk

Thanks for the info - much easier to figure out comparison sizes. Only a foot longer than my mom's 626 - so I don't think it will be too large.
