: Two Fans or One?

I have a 461 in my Chevelle with air and a trans cooler. I was wondering if I should run my 5 blade Hayden Flex Fan with a shroud and a electric fan in front of the radiator. If I do this will the electric fan cancel out the other one? Also, should I take the air conditioner's radiator out from in front of the water radiator or will it run at the same temperture if I leave it in?

Any help appreciated.

If your AC works don't butcher it up!! If on the other hand most of the other components are missing and you don't plan to fix it, then yes, removing the condenser should help air flow a little. I would think if you have a pump mounted fan and a shroud that should do the trick by itself. If you have the room and you need an electric fan, put the electric fan on the back side of the radiator, pulling works better than pushing.

Hey 73,
I also have a 61 Corvette with a crate 350. It is tough to keep cool especially when cruising or during the summer. I use a HP 5 blade fan with no clutch and I've installed a 14" Spal electric fan wired to a thermostat with an overide switch. I leave in on auto most of the time but when I don't need extra cooling I flip the switch to off. It's really neat to have the extra cooling capacity when I need it. mgg
