My neighbor broke a spark plug off so that only the sparl plug threads are left. Anybody have any clue how to get it out without pulling the head??? This is on a small block Chevy.

Jim you can try an EZ out, but I pulled this wonderous stunt on a Geo Spectrum and that SOB was in there so good ( annealed?) that the head had to come off, set in a angle vise, and had to drill it out, neaking up in the last few thou so a wire came out of there. Still had to Heli-coil, quick valve lap, and go.

If you go for the ez out, do yourself a favour & buy the best quality ones...like snap-on or equivalent. If you break the EZ out the head has to come off (BTDT). Don't spare the penetrating oil, be sure you got the right size EZ out. If you don't feel comfortable with the task, an experienced mechanic should be able to do this. My2¢

Jim,
It seems like the best ez-outs to use for this particular problem are the square ones...not the normal spiral type.
