Just completed a buildup of a roller lifter/rocker setup and have not seen any oil coming up the pushrods during pre-oil. I have good pressure and no leaks - no odd noises either. Could an incorrect pushrod length be causing it? (somehow covering the orifice in the rocker?) This is a Crane pre-'87 style setup. Motown 415 block, ARF210's.
I just don't want to fire it unless I know I'm OK.

slowly spin the crank as you run the primer. it can take a while for oil to show up at the rocker arms.

Thanks.. I'll give that a try. Also am going to recheck preload.

A follow up to pre-oil issues... I there a way to check oil travel through the engine except by the pressure gauge or pushrods? Also, I'm a little foggy as to how the oil is pumped up the pushrod. It a function of the lifter only or cam oiling or both???
Thanks for any info!
