I just ordered all the parts for my 400 build. I have been offered lt1 powdered rods in lieu of the scat 4340 cap screw. Are these any good and will they support the hp compared to the Scat rods
Thanks

Jerry,
I would use the Scat's.
Is this a floated pin deal? If so the LT1 will need modification unless you are going pressed.
Also, the Scat will have more cam clearance & is easier to modify for even more as you don't have to grind on the head of the bolt ;)
Where did you order the rotating assembly from?

Thanks Mike, I did go with the Scat rods. I appreciate your response.I ordered everything through the machinist doing my work.I could have got a bit better deal elsewhere but felt get everything through him is better for both of us.
Thanks again

I always like to see someone who will help the local shop who is doing your work & giving you untold hours of free advice.
You get three "atta boys" :D
4, I'll give you an atta boy too. I also advocate using your local businessman, I do. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks guys. I own a small business too and know all to well that the ole mighty dollar swerves too many people. I really do appreciate it when someone helps me out and as long as prices are reasonable, they get my business. Now I just wish I could get all my customers to realize that I am not a non profit organization :D
