Just looking to find out if anyone knows anything about these heads. I do know from looking at MorTec.com that they are 69-84...oval...OPEN...'69 396/265hp, 366T, 427T, 112cc chamber... But are the worth a darn at performance?? Is there a sight that explains "open VS. closed" ports? I'd also like to see if someone could give me a guestimation on my compression ration with these heads and these pistions??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Are the intake ports wider then they are tall??

B/c if they are, they are peanut port heads.

Otherwise they are large ovals and should be fine..

PS., and you may want to measure the valves b/c there are 1.84" and 1.94" intakes with 1.66" exhaust valves BB heads running around that were used on the truck motors.. Hopefully they are 2.06"/1.72" like normal..

I had a set of those that were on a 69 Impala with the 396/265hp 2bl motor. The valves were the standard 2.06 / 1.72, ports were large ovals. I believe that they have the same size intake ports as the 781's.

I don't remember what the intake ports look like. There is the word "truck" in to the casting..
