Anyone have pictures of their own, or other's '69 convertibles? I'm primarily interested in a code 67 marroon color since that's the factory color of my Malibu, but I'm considering changing it to a dark red (It's so much easier to tell if you'd like the color if you can see a car already done that way). Mine was repainted before I got it in a non original red metallic which looks good, but if I'm repainting, I prefer to go with an original color.
Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,
If you go to my html below you will see my 1969 Chevelle convertible. Be aware that there are pictures of how it looked back in the 70's and how it looks now (needs work). The color is butternut yellow. Before you go yuck.... take a look at it. I personally like ot and it is not the norm, i.e. bright red or blue. The maroon is a unique color as well. Good Luck.

Bob Tiley has a maroon(or dark red cant remember) 69 convert. I have the page bookmarked over in Windows, but from here in Linux I'll have to search for it, I'll look and add the link if I can find it.
Here's the link: www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/8887/ (http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/8887/)
This was the pic that made me think it was maroon: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Downs/8887/chevele3.jpg

My car is painted Rasberry Pearl ( an early-90's Chrysler color). I saw and liked the color chip in the PPG Book, So I went with it. I was originally just looking for a bright red.

Bob, The car looks great. What kind of buckets are in it. I cannot get a good look but they do not appear original.
Thanks for the responses guys. Steve P, your car looks great in the older pictures, please send an update when you "finish" it. I agree that there are too many red and blue cars, but it's difficult to envision what our car's factory color will look like unless it can be somehow seen in excellent shape. Many factory colors look great when freshly painted.
Steve D, thanks for the link to Bob Tiley's page. That's one beautiful car. I had printed out the pictures from his web site and they have inspired me ever since I bought my convertible last October. The original color of my car, code 67 maroon can actually look purplish at certain angles. If anyone does have that color, and can post a picture, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Rich
