Hi,
I am planning on replacing the stock points distributor on my mostly stock 72 350. My intent is to get better throttle response, gas mileage and higher RPMs. I have read on here that the GM HEI's are good, but I have also been looking at the crane XR-1 points conversion kit, as well as Mallory's HEI distributor. Does anyone know if the XR-1 can offer any of the same benefits that an HEI can in comparison to a points dist.?...or is a true HEI system the only way to go? Thanks a lot!
