hi guys just picked up a 12 bolt chevy ( I THINK )REAR END AND FOUND THE CODE ON THE RIGHT AXLE TUBE THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS KD C 382 COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL WHAT I BOUGHT OR IS THERE A PAGE I COULD GO TO TO FIND OUT THANKS BOB

from what I can see in "Chevrolet by the numbers" Vettered, you bought a 1972 Chevelle/Monte Carlo rear axle, 2.73:1 non-posi (KD)....built in Buffalo (C)...and (382)is supposed to be the day of the year but since there is only 365 days in a year maybe you read it wrong or maybe I'm just way off base here. There should also be another # after the 382 for the shift that day that produced it..good luck and lemme know.
