I have a 327 that I used in my race car for years and I would like to put it in my week end cruiser if I can get so good miles out of it. At what bore measure past 4.06 is a 327 used up?

My personal opinion: .060 is probably too far for good cylinder wall thickness.

The only real way to know is to have the cylinders sonic checked.

Some of the early blocks had thicker walls. As Schurkey said, the only way to know is a sonic test.

After thinking about it, once my pistons have too much clearance the block would be junk right? If someone has a block that needs a bore job for a rebuild, how much wear might be measured on average using a 4.00 standard that would clean up at .030?

Less then .015"..

And just b/c a block is worn a bunch doesn't mean it is shot, it just means that it will use oil and rattle a bunch b/c that's what my old junk 301 did.

I figure it had at least .010" or more on the pistons!!!
