Has anyone used a factory aluminum Q-jet smogger intake and then changed to an Edelbrock Performer? What were the gains or losses? Was it worth the change?

I changed in the 79 Vette because the original warped at the EGR port. There really wasn't any change from before the manifold warped. I put one on a friends truck that had the iron Qjet manifold. His cracked so on went the Performer EGR manifold. The truck definately had better bottom end with the factory manifold.

One of the car mags did a build-up on a Goodwrench 350. After baselining with a factory aluminum Q-jet intake, they switched to a Performer. If I remember correctly, they gained 15 HP and lost a little low-end torque, but gained in the mid-range.
