Ok im trying to get a realistic figure of what it would cost to swap the heads on my mild 350.

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=110&Ntk=KeywordSearch&Ntt=+TFS-30400001&x=0&y=0

Those heads are nicely priced for what im getting, but i have no clue what gasket to get, how much the gasket is. I know ill need a head bolt kit:

Would those be correct?

What else am I missing?

Head gaskets friendly to your heads and compression ratio, intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets, silicone sealant for the ends of the intake, valve cover gaskets, pipe fittings and sealant to fill unused holes, intake and exhaust bolts if they're not up to par.

i have good bolts for everythign else, being that this is a stock 8.3-8.5 compression motor, the goal is to get as much as i can, so what gaskets for hte heads do you recomend?

The valve cover, intake, and header gaskets together wont be too much, so im figuring about $100.00 for all the gaskets required?

Please elaborate on what you mean by pipe fittings...

There should be a threaded hole in each head for a water temperature sensor. If you don't have a sensor to put in there you will need a plug. If your sensor is the wrong thread, you will need an adapter bushing.

If your pistons are .025" down in the bore, you could pick up some compression by using a Felpro 1094 .015" head gasket. You can also use a GM 10105117 .028" gasket to gain a little compression.

onovakind,

Do you happen to know if the 10105117 .028" gasket fits conventional-style heads?

yeah im going to be doing a cam swap from a performer rpm to either hte xe268 or voodoo 268 (depending on the availibility of hte voodoo) and im contemplating whether or not to bit the bullit and spend half my savings on some heads. Hopefully i get some money for christmas, if i get a decent amount ill deffinantly go for both, and it would make sense to do both at once to save money on gaskets. I'll have to see what comes out of tommorrow.
