Well, after I purchased my bare heads and all the necessary parts for them, I realized that I need more spring installed height. :rolleyes: Deepening the pockets won't help enough and I already have my brand new, standard length valves.

Would using +.050/+.100 locks or retainters cause any negative affects on my valvetrain?

Nope, as long as the stem of the valve above the groove is long enough so the rocker doesn't hit the retainer :D

Is that a common problem... is it likely? I'm only looking at .525" lift.

EDIT: Crane 1.5:1 full roller rockers (part number 11744), ARP botls, guideplates, etc.

It is a problem if the retainer end up higher than the tip of the valve :D
