: 454 roller motor
DaleRichiebell Nov 11th, 02, 5:19 PM I need help in finding the horsepower and torque on my engine. The engine is a 2 bolt main 454 bored 30 over. It has been lined bored. Keith black pistons, 1 valve relief. Heads have been shaved to make 9:1 cr. Stock rods, stock crank, balanced. The heads are part # 336781. oval ports, the say high performance passenger on it. not the peanut plugs. It has a crower roller cam 520/540 lift, 232 duration at 50. It has triple valve springs and crower 1.7 steel roller rockers, crower roller lifters, 1 3/4 headers, shortie hedman. It has eldebrock rpm air gap and eldebrock 750 cfm carb. Would anybody know the horsepower and torque figures and do you know the intake runner size on the heads?
SS_Dave Nov 12th, 02, 9:50 AM My engine is nearly exact to yours.
Difference is you have an air gap, mine is
performer RPM. You have Edelbrock 750, mine is Holley 750. My cam is the matched Edlebrock 7160 560/573 lift 232 dur.
Little more cam than you have, but not roller. I am running low 12's in my 69.
This is a street car. I don't even have the battery in the trunk. The desktop dyno says I am at 480 flywheel hp. 512 lb ft. tq.

DaleRichiebell Nov 13th, 02, 10:38 PM Sounds similiar, but are your cylinder heads the same #336781, oval ports? not ported, intake runners are 255 on the intake, roller rockers 1.7, roller lifters, horsepower figures seem a little high on stock heads.
mr 4 speed Nov 13th, 02, 10:45 PM I wouldn't worry about hp #'s..why not take it down the track and have some fun?
