i have a 1965 malibu with a 1979 305 and would like to replace the distributor and set timing and what would be the procedure to do so and also adjust the carburator its a 2bbl rodchester thanks john.

Try using the search feature on this site. Search for "Distributor install". I bet you will come up with a lot of good threads covering the installation. Your 305 is fundamentally no different than a 350.

You might try a search for the carb adjustment also.

I'm not trying to blow you off. You have very valid questions that need answers, it's just that those topics have been covered so often in the past that not to many folks will want to give a detailed response again. If you do a search and dont find what you need get back here and ask again.
