ddd Mar 2nd, 99, 3:50 PM currently building a 454 to install in a 64 malibu ss . just curious has to how tall of a intake manifold will fit before having to cut the hood . cutting the hood in my mind is not an option . i have the 850 double pumper already but havn't purchased the intake. Jake Mar 2nd, 99, 5:12 PM ddd, i had the same issues with my 66(396). I purchased an edelbrock RPM manifold & was told that I would have some height problems. I'm using a major drop base & still can only use a 2" air cleaner... Even that is close to the hood. Also, i would not be able to use a plate under the carb either, so if the super juice is in my future, I better find a nice cowl hood! Good Luck with it!
