In the early stages of rebuilding my 327.
Converting to 350 with mild cam (Comp 270H).
Got the engine taken apart and am buying parts now.
Gonna need a new balancer, mine is showing deterioration of the rubber.
In general, what are the advantages of an 8" over the 6 3/4?
I'm trying to stay with a stock external appearance, but add some power.

Elco,
Neither will make any more actual power. The larger one will protect the engine better...the smaller one will allow a little faster accelleration, sort of like a lightweight flywheel. I would venture to say that on a street / mild bracket engine, you will never feel the difference or see it in a time slip. I would go woth the big one if you have a choice.

Thanks Billk for the info.
Will the larger diameter create any interference problems with pulleys?
I know I'll have change my timing marker location. Any other issues that can forseen?

Should not cause any pulley problems. Just make sure you have the right timing pointer.
