We have a 1970 307 Chevelle with the original Rochester 2-Jet. We're thinking of swapping in a completely rebuilt 4-barrel Quadrajet and manifold conversion kit. Will this effectively trash the engine or should we just go ahead and do it?

It won't hurt a thing... slap the quad on the intake and the intake on the motor... just be sure to adjust the kickdown.

i have a '70 with 307, the kickdown linkage broke and i can't find a replacement. i've been driving with it off, and, with the 2 spd, i don't really know it.
a 4 bbl sort of does that for you.
