: Will Team Chevelle change to the newer V Bulletin format?

I frequent other websites that have changed to the newer version of V Bulletin. I didn't use the term "upgrade" as V Bull likes to call it, because it is actually a HUGE downgrade in my opinion, and the ones using it have had massive member complaints, problems with slow, can't post responses, search functions that don't work, etc.

Their responses have all been that V Bull is forcing it, and will in the near future stop furnishing tech support on the old version as this one here.

One common teltale for the new versions is the word "forum" in the top tool bar replacing "forums" (plural). The one I'm talking about is V Bulletin 4.1.10

I hope TC stays with the old version as long as possible. To say the new one sux would be a huge understatement.

Post a site using it so we can see what your talking about.

Mike, the differences are subtle as far as a quick glance, but very signficant in terms of function.

One is WWW.ScreamandFly.com (http://www.ScreamandFly.com) (high perf boats)

Another is WWW.NCRS.org (http://www.NCRS.org)

In both cases you have to look for specific forums for discussions of the problems.

Checked out the vBulletin Community forum and they still show v2 so I don't think that 4.1.10 is a mandatory upgrade.
There's some issues that they are addressing with updates.
Keep in mind that the site owners -Verticlescope -have a bunch of forums (some are listed at the bottom of this page -there's more than are shown) and it probably isn't cost efficient to upgrade them all.
Nothings been discussed in the back room and we usually get info prior to any major changes.

I hope TC will think about it long and hard before going to the 4.1.10

On S & F we've had more member complaints and issues since the change than can be counted.

In any case, we've been using it for over a year, since it was first introduced and there are still major problems. I think they released it long before it was ready, and the truth be known it probably still isn't.

In the case of NCRS if you look at http://www.ncrs.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?11-Discussion-Board-Help!
there are a lot of scattered issues.

In the case of S & F you would have to do a search to see all the member complaints since they're not mostly limited to a single forum, but the search function is worthless at this point.

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that I can assure you that there is no plans of having TC switched to vBulletin 4 at the moment :)
