OK, I know what visitor messages are but can't you just type in the box then hit "post message"?

On MY profile I can't post to the visitor messages.

Yeah Dean ,you see the box because your a visitor to his profile.
As he's not a visitor to his own profile ,he doesn't have the option to leave himself a visitor message.
May have been functional in a previous software version but I've never seen that option in mine since I've been here.

I can type into others boxes but not for mine cause there isn't one. I know that I did once before though.

OK ,I'll ask ,why are you trying to leave yourself a message?
There might be another venue if we knew what you were trying to do.

I can write myself a message> I see where you wrote on yours before . mike lets just say I write a visitor message to him he wont be able to respond

ok if you can not see your own message box at all you have to go to user cp then to edit options then check this box Visitor MessagingThis forum features a visitor messaging system that allows members to send messages to one another publicly.

If you do not want to receive visitor messages, you may disable the visitor messaging system.

Thanks Dave ,didn't know you could enable/disable that function.
Seems every time we get a software update/upgrade ,something get's added/deleted or turned off/on.

OK,your's was enabled and his wasn't -near as I can tell.
Mines never been there so guess I didn't miss it.
I use the 'personal notepad' to leave 'stuff' for later use.
