hi men
started my chevelle 454 bbc up for the first time since i installed a holley 950 pro mpfi i have added a 2 bar map so i can run my vortech V7 ysi with it . I've down loaded the sc14psi program for the ecu . it didn't want to start and the fuel pressure dropped off fast when the pump stopped . i got it running and it was missing heaps and there was sh#t loads of fuel coming out the left tail pipe the right was clean of fuel . any help please

The ground wire is the trigger for your injector pairs. When i put my stealthram c950 together the first time i had accidentally smashed one of the ground wires between the manifold and the fuel rail, so that pair was just wide open whenever the key was on. Sounds like you may have similar deal going..

Also be ready for it...fuel has accumulated in that one muffler and it could explode when that bank lights properly. When I say explode, it could pop your muffler, I'm not saying it's going to blow up your car or garage.

going to check the current running though the wires if that's not it I'll have to swap the injectors left bank to right bank and see if the injectors are the problem .
just went around all the injector leads and there was no power coming from the pare of light brown injector leads . crossed them over with the dark brown ones to check the earth and the earth was fine . then ran from the injector plug back to the ecu connector and there was no brake there . what now . is it the ecu or am i missing something .

You'll probably have to change your oil also. My mistake put around 2qts of fuel in my oil.

i think most of it came out the tail pipe no bangs or flames . but i'll have to check that as well

One thing is for sure, if you are putting fuel out the tailpipe on one bank, you are washing the oil off the cylinder walls. Thats not good. You need to figure out what is going on before you run the engine any more and score your cylinders and pistons or worse yet ruin your engine bearings.

To troubleshoot, disconnect the power to your fuel pump and coil output wire to prevent the engine from starting and check the injector drive with a noid light. Disconnect one injector lead from the bank not spewing fuel and connect the lights pigtail to 12V and probe the injector leads. During crank you should see one of the injector leads be a constant 12V (light stays off) and the other lead should pulse low (light blinks during crank). Repeat the process on the other bank. If the light stays out on one lead but stays on constantly on the other than that means that your injectors on that bank are on constantly. There is no real "ground" lead to the injectors as the ECM provides the return current path via the injector drivers by pulsing "low" or near ground. If the noid light stays on then that means that the injector return wire is shorted to ground somewhere or that the driver for that bank is bad (shorted). If the return wires do not appear to be shorted anywhere, then have the ECM checked out. I'm sorry I can't give you wire colors since I doo not have your particular system but this is how they all work for the most part. HTH

the wires are good i ran a meter from the injector plug to the ecu plug have to find some one with a noid lite see how that goes thanks

I really dought you have 4 bad injectors on the same side.

Before you go blaming the ECU, make sure that you have followed the instructions regarding proper grounding.

i read the instruction booklet about five times and the used it when installing the system . when i have time i mite change the ignition system and try it again . i have a noid light on its way ,disconect fuel & coil take plugs out so i can turn the motor over so i can try each injector lead with noid light . if that fails i'll have to get a mechanic to help .

this is what holley sent me no questions , cut and past out of the manual .
There will be voltage on the injector for five seconds. When you turn the ignition switch on the pump will run for five seconds. The injectors are run from the relay also. After the five seconds computer shuts off the power to the Injectors, Fuel pump and o2 sensor. When you crank the engine over and the ecu receives a tach signal from the engine then the pump and injectors will power back up.

Did you wire the fuel pump through a relay? Did you double check all of the grounds for the ECU?

hi andrew
i did it as the manual sad to , i mite try running the ecu earth to the battery but i don't think that's the problem . i mite have to do what i hate doing and pay some one to fix it .
