I have a 70 El Camino that I'm switching from an SS hood to a Cowl Induction hood. It has a stock 396 motor with a Rochester Quadrajet carb. When I put the rubber flange on the air cleaner housing then try to close the hood it won't go down all the way without REALLY pushing down hard on it. The manifold is an Edelbrock Performer 2-0(#2161) which is the stock replacement manifold. The original is long gone. I don't have the spacer on between the carb and air cleaner either. Is it normal to have to REALLY push down hard to get the hood to closed or am I missing something? TIA
