I have just realize that I do not have a Chevelle type oil pan on my redone BB. I need a stock appearing oil pan for a BB 454. I see prices all over from $29.50 on ebay to $400 for jegs or summitt. I know cheap rarely gets a good product. Any recommendations on whats a good buy for a 70 Chevelle Big Block?

Stay away from the chrome cheapo offshore pans as they will leak, unless you grind the chrome off so the mating surfaces can seal.
I believe you can buy a new stock pan from somebody. Not exactly sure who is selling them. Check the aftermarket parts catalogs.
I do know that GM sells them. I think they run about $160-180 ??

Your best bet is to find an original for about $50-$100.
I've sold 3 used pans in the last year. $75, $100, $150. All depends on condition.

Chevy 70 SS Vert,

I dont know if you can wait until spring, but I picked up a new one from a guy that's at the Woodlands swapmeet in KC. He's usually there every year. I think I paid $40, and it fit perfectly. Scot
