I want to replace my old spin on oil filter adapter with a new one. My old one (p/n 6676940) was leaking and could not find new gaskets for it. I bought a Mr Gasket 1270 adapter but the gasket between the pressure relief valve is 3/16 of an inch thick and seems too big. When I installed it it pumped oil out. Tried a new cut ring between adapter and block and again leaked.
Today I bought a Trans Dapt 1024 oil filter adapter . It says to remove the oil pressure relief valve body and not use it. Is this a good idea? Any one use this adapter on thier motor? Looks like it should seal to the block fine but wonder about the pressure relief. Thanks for any help. This is for a 65 or 66 327 motor.
