Ok guys need some more help here. What effect does altitude have on tuning a carburator? I recently got my car out here in Seattle (from Iowa) and I'm thinking the altitude change is messing with the carb. I pulled a plug yesterday and it was all carbon'd up. Does a lower altitude make a car run richer?

The lower altitude would make the car run leaner, as the air is more dense as you get closer to sea level. What carb do you have? If it is a Holley, the power valve may be ruptured, which will make the car run rich at idle and low speed. This is a very common problem with Holleys.
