I have a pair of 441's on an engine I got a few weeks ago, but they have the small seat tapered plugs. I didn't think the 441's ever had small seats, but rather the large seat plug with the gasket. Has anyone else seen these? The few books I have also say large seat. The heads are 1970 castings. Any input would be appreciated.

"441" – 3932441. This head was found on the 1969-1970 350 engines (255hp 350), it was a decent flowing large chamber head. It had 1.94/1.50" valves, 76CC combustion chambers, DO have accessory holes, intake port volume should be 161CC's, exhaust port volume should be 61CC's. Not to be confused with 3923441, which was a 1.72/1.50" valve, 327 truck head.

It has been a few years, but if I remeber correctly the 441's I had on my stock car motor had peanut plugs also. I can't tell you the year of the castings, but the were for sure 441's.

I have a pair out in the shed, peanut plug.

The year a head is cast is not necessarily the same model year it's machined for. Sometimes they sat around awhile.

NHRA stock/super stock racers will pay well for those castings if they havent been chopped up. Could be worth pretty good bucks!

If the casting date is after Aug 70 (letter H for Aug in the date code), then they went into a 71 model car which got the taper seat plug.
