I have a 402 bored .060 over the rebuild would have approx 50 miles on it and the brand new dist. I had was bad allowed to detonate burnt up the wrist pins so the engine rebuilder who built the engine for me took pitty on me and didnt charge me any labor bored wrist pins and put in new and rebalanced motor put in all new gaskets well in the mean time I decided on a complete frame off resto was needed- motor sat 4 years I kept cylinders oiled up good and turned over ocassionally -I have it running now and have some smoking (not white been thru that:) I should add that 11 :1 comp forged pistons moly rings heads were done all for comp with the good machined seals- Could it be that the rings and piston on this are gonna blow by more than a stock setup would this hi po stuff is somewhat new to me all Ideas and your guys experience greatly appreciated graemlins/clonk.gif SpnChvy@aol.com

Not sure that 50 miles is enough to fully breakin an engine, but the rings "should" be seated. A leak down test will give you valuable information as to condition of each cylinder. "Smoke" can mean a lot of things, on the throttle, coasting, idle only, at startup, after overnight all can have a different cause. Have a leak down test done, post results with detailed symptoms and someone will guide you to the source of the trouble. If anything the "hi po stuff" seals better than production.

Also check to see if the PCV system is blocked or clogged (if you have one).
