Oh Ye of great motor knowledge! I've rebuit an 86' 305 for my 70" Malibu. However, I can not (age thing) remember where the oil pressure/Temp sensor goes in the block. The manuals I have are not specific as to the location. The H2O Temp sensor goes in the left or right head correct? But where does the Oil sensor/sending unit go?
In advance thanks for your help.

Don't know for sure on a '86, but I would try the driver's side cylinder head for the h2O sensor. The oil pressure sensor is at the back of the block near the distributor. It's just left of center (looking at it from in the car) and near the back edge of the intake.

There are usually a couple of options for both. Even my '91 4.3 has plugs in both: intake manifold, as well as head (temp sender). Oil pressure can be wher the stock one is, next to/behind the distributor. Or, usually there is a pipe plug above the oil filter boss. I use both sets. Factory gauges and REAL gauges.
