In my 65 which I am converting to use a T56 6 speed I have to adapt my crossmember. I used to have a TH350. To adapt it will require me to use a metal extension so I can match it to the tranny. Is there another crossmember that might work better? TH400 or something?

Can I make a crossmember? What would you use to make a crossmember? I am thinking using heavy gauge steel tubing. What size tubing would I have to use?

Thanks for your help.

David,
When I did my 70 Monte with the T56, I used an existing crossmember but had to cut the mount off and weld a piece of plate to the bottom in order to get it to work. I am not sure what your problem is, wether it need to go further back or the rear of the tranny lower.
Also, have you hooked up the clutch master cylinder yet? This required some rigging also.
E-mail me direct if you need further info.
Tom
