Can someone using, or familiar, with the 454 LS-6 intake manifold help me out with some measurements?
I need the front & rear height measurements of the intake. From where it meets the block to the carb base.
Is it a square bore?
Thanks

Isn't that one, the "pancake" intake that is about as low as they ever made unless you are running a 500 Cad.????

It is a low rise aluminium square bore for a Holley Carb.

The Manifold looks to be about 1/2 inch from where it mounts to the block, to the base of the water neck. I would say about 2 inches to the top of the carb flange. Hope this helps.

That's it.. It is so low that it almost flow's up hill!!
I think you can radius the underside of the plenum and gain a little more air flow but it's not much of a hy-po intake when compared to the better high-rises of the period or newer ones now, imho..
It was made for the low 'Vette hood clearance of the time, I think moreso then max. performance and that's why E-brock made the BB torquer b/c it flow's better and is really low too!! But still not that good an intake either..

pdq67 Oh, I thought you were describing the Vette intake. I was interested in the Chevelle LS-6 intake. I had one guy tell me that its 4.25 in at the front and 5.75" at the rear. What you described above sounds like the lo-rise version.
I'm having clearance issues with my Stealth. I think it's too high for the air chamber on my L-88 hood. It measures 4.75 at the front and 5.75 at the rear and sits about 7 3/4" inch from the front.
Measurements of L-88 intakes from guys range from 4.25 at the front to 4.5".
Driving me nuts. The front of the air chamber (in the hood) is contacting the L-88 air cleaner base too soon, that's why I think my Stealth is too high. Can't imagine what else it could be. graemlins/angry.gif
