I would like to see a projects section so everyone can post updates on their project and people can easily see what outhers are doing.

Why not just use the existing 'Restoration Forum' ?

looks like a bunch of questions to me.

I just mentioned this. i think its a good idea. the restoration forum clearly states that the forum is in regards to originality.

Dont want to offend anyone who is doing a numbers matching by posting topics that dont relate tot hat.

There are posts ive seen and read in almost every category where some guy posts something and everyone says keep us posted on the project. Well if he posted a question in the suspension forum now he has to add to that post with updates. You can see where that would soon turn into off topic discussion.

Well just my opnion but a "Ongoing project forum" would be nice if doable.

Something to think about.

do a search in the Site Discussion forum, this has been asked for many times- the mods don't want it for some reason.

Just start your own in whatever forum you are most happy posting in, and then keep updating it instead of starting new threads when you ask new questions or have new updates.

It would be nice if they created a place for ongoing project/build threads though.. I'd much rather see them in one place than have to dig in the bodyshop, protouring, or performance, or bench racing, or whatever forums to find an individual build thread thats has fallen off the current page to see updates. or worse, jump from forum to forum to follow someones project as they go through the various phases...

But thats just me and i'm weird.

I totally agree its very hard to follow builds that jump around. Or you forget where they was posted.

All anyone has to do is keep posting in the same thread that they started and it comes back to the top of the page. It can be added to from now on.

It would be nice if they could be like a documentary but that will never happen because too many people want to post just to be heard.

Dean... you're missing the point... And the documentaries DO happen, and they have happened here. Just nobody can find them becaue there isn't a dedicated section for them.

It doesn't matter what the grandsports of the world do... the rest of the universe can tune them out- its not about the guys who make it difficult and how hard it makes the mods job. Their job is the same regardless of where the posting is.

Its about what the rest of us want to look at. WE are the audience.

And as you say, those guys are already posting just to be heard, so what harm would it cause to group these types of threads into a specific forum so the REST of us could read them and find them w/o digging?

Its not the mods job to ensure threads only have quality postings- or to keep the grandsports of the world from cluttering them up with BS-
It is their job to FACILITATE the rest of us finding and sharing info.

Answer me this...
Where can i find the build thread for that 69 chevelle by the guy with the turtle & the awesome food & budweiser?
Where can i find Beaux's 70 Chevelle build thread?
Where can i find the thread for that beaumont with the viper drivetrain (this ones easy since it recently was brought back to the top... but 2 weeks ago it would have been hard)
ETC ETC. (i've been here for years so i could quote a lot of cool build threads over the years, enough that i'm sad i can't find them to look through again for ideas.

Build threads exist on this site now- but unless someone brings it back to the top- or you know the posters name, or the original forum it was posted in, the best you can do is try to search for them....

it would be awesome if there were one spot where people who start these things could put them... Thus the request for a Build Thread/Project Section.

Just about every other car forum has one, i don't think its a stretch of the imagination that it would work well here too.

....
anyway.... End of my argument.

Wow ,where'd you get that mis-information from?

If you look at the link for the other Team sites (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=50),you'll notice that none have a 'Project Forum'.

And I doubt it's the end of anything ;)

My whole post, and those are the lines you want to debate?

Like I said, -MY- argument is done... I've kicked this particular horse before and its still dead.

Really good points. This way if a forum is created as old ones pop up to the top the mods can move them into that forum. Or guys that know they have posted thier projects can dig them up and post a message to move them to the new forum. This way we can start getting them all where they should be.

Do it guys WE want it!! lol

I suggest that a forum be added title "Project Builds." People like to document the building of their project in a single thread and this forum will serve as the home for such threads.
