Well I think I commited a "Newbie" goof for my first engine build. I didn't think to replace the old stock crank gear with the new Cloyes double roller gear before balancing. Can I get away with it now or am I stuck? BTW, its a 454 cast crank. Thanks.

No, i think you should be fine. I pulled the same exact thing with my 427 build. I asked my machinist about it and he said the timing gears, the cam and sprocket including the chain, should be balanced.

Daniel really? Usually it's just the crank sprocket. How does he figure bob weights for the cam and chain?

No problem whatsoever.
The crank sprockets are a neutral balance part & do not effect balance & they are so close to the centerline of the crank that you probably couldn't change the weight of one enough to disturb the balance.
