I have a 402 .060 over .494 lift cam 10:8.1 pistons and I have a edlebrock new quad 750..looking at some charts say a 750 is way to big..it does smell real rich on idle and lowend Is not great.. want to try a quad 650 on it I don't run the car over 4k..I just drive it,and I updated the trans with a 700R4 and ran up to lake george N.Y. from mass..very nice. what do you think. al
Judging by the rpm range you'll be in, the 650 should be fine. If it's a Holley, you might have to monkey with it to lean the idle.

I run a 750 duouble pumper on my 414 with a .575 inch lift cam and around 10.8:1 and I have no problems at all.

Even if it's too big you can tune the richness out. In a car with an OD trans I would think very hard about a Q-jet. They meter extremely well at part throttle which is where you will be with the OD.
