Any tips (lessons learned) on how best to change ignition switch? 71 SS454 Chevelle with TH400/B&M Megashifter on floor. Seems easy, but what should I be sure to do/not do to prevent driving down the road having the steering wheel/column fall into my lap one day? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif THANKS!

It is a very easy job, Just unplug the switch wiring, remove the 2 mounting screws and unhook the rod and install the new one in reverse procedure.........Gary

when you put it back together, just make sure that it is adjusted properly. I changed the one in my olds cutlass and had it mounted about an 1/8" to far down on the column and you couldn't turn the key far enough to crank the motor. Just make sure everything works before you bolt the column back up.
