Ok, I have a 400 sbc and no power steering pump or brackets. I can't seem to get a pump and brackets that fit each other. I've went to salvages and tried getting the brackets, then the pump doesn't fit the bracket. Then I'm reading in a magazine about some brackets you can get that you dont even have to hook up were your headers go or whatever. I got some hooker headers and I think it would look a little better if I didn't have some kind of spacer and a stupid bracket. I can't believe it's such a big problem. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd appreciate it! Thanks

Leave it off and strongarm it, they just leak anyways http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif Worked on my '66 Impala. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Did you try Summit or Jeg's or even the local speed shop to see if there are any aftermarket ones? If you got the whole shebang including the pump off a donor car at the boneyard you should be OK. If it needs a new pump go get one for whatever the donor car was at Pep Boys or whatever. Mr. Hackmeister put a spacer on my PS bracket between the bracket and the header flange. Ugly, but functional, and yes, I'm changing it eventually. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

Oh yeah, go to my webpage at the link below and check the "What's Under the Hood?" page. There are 2 shots of my brackets there.
