I have a 66 SS. The alternator is not charging. I have had it check and it is ok. I have changed voltage reg. twice. No luck. The car has factory gauges and the amp gauge isn't working. I have run out of ideas. I'm all ears!

Check for a bad fusible link somewhere in the system. Also check to make sure none of the big red charging wires are melted/cut/disconnected. You also may want to get a cheap $10 amp gauge and use it to test various points in the system to try and pinpoint the problem. hope this helps ya...
