figured this forum is a good place to start. I have a question regarding my 1972 402 4 speed ss. The person I purchased the car from was the second owner and they claimed that my chevelle was originally purchased from the Don Yenko dealership in PA.

I have a build sheet for the car but the bottom left corner is unreadable due to fading etc.

Does anyone know first of all if Yenko actually sold just regular chevelles?

Mine is nothing out of the ordinary for the year, except that the guy I bought the car from said when he got the car there was a carb / intake set up that sat at an angle almost like a baldwin-motion type with the flat Mr.Gasket air cleaner. Also, there are a couple of faded Yenko Tuned decals on the side windows. I know these decals were a popular add on back in the day.

FWIW, the person I bought the car from didn't have the original intake or carb, he sold it at a swap meet in the 80's (bummer).

To get to the point, is there a database out there where I can search the vehicles history by VIN and figure out where this car was originally sold/delivered?

Yenko was a Chevrolet dealer so he sold the entire line of Chevy's.
With today's privacy laws ,you'll find it difficult to get any previous owner info.
You might look for another build sheet in the vehicle as ,on occasion ,there were more than one stuck in there somewhere.

The NICB report will tell you the original dealer but they are difficult to get

The edelbrock tarantula intake manifold for the BB Chevy mounted the carb on an angle.
It was a standard speed shop BBChevy intake used in the 1970s
